Exercise 5.1, A Cheap Shot!!

It appears Andre has pulled a fast one on us. The assignment due tomorrow isn't just a normal 2 page assignment on something in the book. Essentially, our entire rough draft is due tomorrow, and I can guarantee that hardly anyone (probably nobody), myself included, has even started a draft. To me this is understandable, we have a whole 2.5 weeks left to write the thing... I don't think anyone planned on starting for at least another week lol. Oh well... looks like I better get to writing.

Multi Genre Stuff

Sooo,I've decided that alongside the terrible 6 page paper that I haven't hardly thought of as of yet, that I'd use a pamphlet and a dialogue as my two other genres. My topic is the pros and cons of casino-type facilities on a city. The dialogue in my mind will be a townhall meeting type setup, with the mayor and board members pulling for the casino, and the citizens going against it.

Wiki Page Complete!

Just put the finishing touches on my Wikipedia page. Only real concern I have is the massive amount of references I put in, 10 in total. The "Reference" heading of my page is huge due to the absurdly long links to the pages, so I hope thats not a problem. I also am wondering if we need to make it an actual page, and whether we need to print out the code for the "Paper 2" assignment. Any insight is appreciated, if all else fails I'll just print one of everything out lol.

Wiki page 75% done!

After 3 hrs of grief, I can finally say I made some progress with my Wikipedia page. Getting pictures in there was a task and a half. I've still gotta fill in 1 or 2 headings with actual sentences, but other than that, I'm nearly done. I hope having only a couple of sentences for a couple of headings is ok... information on the smaller things is very difficult to find, even with databases and newspapers.

Links for Wikipedia Page and Citation Concerns

I thought up a cpl of link words for my racetrack. I figure "horse" "harness racing" "Hazel Park" "racetrack" is a good start to introduce the basics of my topic. One thing I'm worrying about is how we would go about citing a source that isnt electronic; say a newsletter or a pamphlet. Hopefully we go over this in class soon.

Link to Hazel Park Raceway

Heres a link to Hazel Park Raceway, my Wikipedia topic. It should be interesting, for as long as it's been around, I've never once set foot in there.

Wiki Topic

I think I finally found something I can do my Wikipedia project on. It's a very old painting called "Spring" found in present day San Torini. It's the first true landscape work in art history, and should be interesting to research, not to mention the information I gather will help with an art paper due later in the year lol.
